비즈니스 용어로 '핵심이 되는 설명이나 묘사를 반복하다'라는 표현의 약어이다.
recapitulation의 줄임말으로 표현하기도 한다.

주로 회의나 중요한 결정, 토론 이후에 간략하게 정리하는데 주로 사용된다고 한다.
이전에 언급된 내용이나 중요한 포인트를 정리해서 전반적인 이해도를 높이고 공유하는데 도움이 된다고 한다.
공유하는 내용은 주로 프로젝트 진행 상황, 회의 결과, 핵심 메시지 혹은 목적 아젠다 등이 포함된다.

프로그래밍에서도 Recap이라는 표현을 사용하기도 하는데 이런 경우는 어떤 주제나 상황의 핵심을 간략하게 다시 사용하거나 언급하는데 사용된다. 비슷한 형태로 Refer 라는 개념을 사용하기도 하는데 Refer라는건 어떤 정보나 자료를 참고하는 경우에 사용한다. Recap은 요약에 중점 Refer는 정보나 자료에 중점된다.
